John Fenton Preacher Man

John Fenton was a preacher man, he rode his horse at night

He went to the Dakoda Territories looking for a fight

He spread his word of evil, about lust and sin

And boasted to his army chums of where he’d been and what he did

I’ve ridden through the Badlands, Teaching heathens wrong from right

I wandered onto Indian Lands to show them all God’s might

I’ve I tasted blood and ’ve tasted war

And I’ve Tasted the forbidden fruit of the native whore

He rode into Fort Union, his bible for to sell,

Telling tales of his misfortune, On his ride from here to hell

He told of the Iowa Calvary, the brave men of the North

When the Sioux attack like devils, They stood like men and fought
